Overview

Job Title: Production Director | Salary: Up to £85k pa | Location: South West | Reference: J2319

Our client requires an Operations Director with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing. The successful candidate will have a commercial outlook and be orientated to achieve results through excellent people management. Strong communication skills and the ability to build robust relationships are key. The role involves leadership, motivation and direction of 100+ people.

The aim of the role is to improve all-round professional standards and team performance, develop individuals within teams, lead and promote innovative change and modern methodologies within the manufacturing area, continue to enhance quality and delivery performance to stringent customer requirements and lead times, identify, promote and deliver cost reductions, and promote health and safety throughout the workspace. The successful candidate will have substantial and successful experience in managing people and processes to high quality standards in time-constrained activities whilst also reducing costs, with a hands-on, shirtsleeves approach to the delivery of objectives. Demonstrable success in creating and implementing change programmes with hard positive impacts on customer service, quality and cost, and proven organisational and project management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage 100+ people with a focus on improving team performance and professional standards.
  • Drive change and adopt modern manufacturing methodologies to improve quality and delivery.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement them.
  • Promote health and safety across the workspace.
  • Maintain a hands-on, shirtsleeves approach to objective delivery.
  • Ensure customer requirements and lead times are met with continuous improvement in service and cost.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Substantial and successful experience in managing people and processes to high quality standards in time-constrained activities while reducing costs.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage processes under pressure with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Track record of delivering measurable improvements in customer service, quality and cost.
