Overview

Our Duxford site is part of Huntsman's Advanced Materials division, focused on delivering high-performance solutions for global industries. We are hiring a Production Chemist to strengthen our production team and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency. We are looking for someone who is technically skilled, proactive, and passionate about process optimization. This is a key role supporting day-to-day operations and long-term improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as a technical expert for production operations and KPI delivery.
  • Supporting and leading continuous improvement projects using LEAN tools (VSM, SMED, Kaizen).
  • Reviewing and updating process instructions, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Leading investigations into safety and quality issues; ensuring CAPA implementation.
  • Driving cost-saving programs and delivering technical training for operators.
  • Managing production data, analyzing trends, and reporting KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Quality and other departments to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
  • PhD/MSc/BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2-3 years in production or process development (preferably in a multinational industrial environment).
  • Knowledge of organic, polymeric, and epoxy chemistry.
  • Understanding chemical engineering and production processes.
  • Proficiency in analytical methodology and statistical principles.
  • Knowledge of SAP, MS Office.
  • Experience with LEAN tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Independent, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are important.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
  • Project management and stakeholder engagement.
