A leading product-based manufacturer in the UK is seeking a Product Testing & Applications Technician to join their engineering team. This role involves conducting technical testing and providing vehicle-related expertise. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with vehicle electrical systems and excellent communication skills. The position offers a salary of £40,000 - £45,000, along with discretionary bonuses and a standard workweek of 37.5 hours from Monday to Friday.

Product Testing Technician

£40,000 - £45,000 | Swanley, Kent | Permanent

An established product-based manufacturer is looking for a Product Testing & Applications Technician to join their growing engineering team. This innovative organisation designs and manufactures advanced safety and technology products for use across a wide range of vehicles and machinery. Their work combines precision engineering, cutting‑edge technology, and a commitment to improving safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical testing, evaluation, verification, and validation of products and systems
  • Provide vehicle‑related technical expertise to guide product development and resolve engineering challenges
  • Support and improve installation and application processes, reducing time and enhancing user experience
  • Carry out benchmarking, troubleshooting, and performance analysis of new and existing products
  • Lead the installation and set‑up of trial systems on vehicles, both in‑house and for customers
  • Contribute to documentation, prototype builds, and technical reporting
  • Offer technical support and training to internal teams and customers
Essential skills and experience
  • Hands‑on experience with vehicle electrical systems (HGV or commercial vehicle experience preferred)
  • Confident in installation, diagnosis, and modification of electrical components and systems
  • Familiar with Microsoft 365 and standard technical documentation tools
  • Methodical, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and support vehicle trials when needed
