Overview

Vickerstock are working in partnership with an industry leading supply & installation business on the appointment of a Procurement Specialist. Our client provide a range of products that are resistant to extreme weather, primarily flooding, to customers across all sectors from local authorities to commercial businesses.

Role

As the Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist you will play a pivotal part in the business working alongside senior management. You will own the full procurement and stock life-cycle across two sites (NI & GB) - from supplier sourcing and negotiation to stock visibility, systems, and internal coordination. You will be proactive in dealing with challenges and will be given the autonomy to amend existing procedure as well as bring your own insight.

Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and manage supplier agreements for all business purchases.
  • Maintain supplier portals and contracts, conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Monitor lead times, consolidate orders, and communicate logistics to the project planning team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to convert requirements into clear, timely purchase orders.
  • Approve deliveries after operational checks and ensure timely communication.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and maintain strict spend control.
  • Lead the roll-out and ownership of a new stock management system integrated with existing systems.
  • Keep accurate records of stock levels, transactions, and movements across both sites.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all stock enquiries, ensuring full visibility and control.
  • Coordinate returns, damaged goods, and on-site reported issues.
  • Produce regular stock reports and analyses to support planning and budgeting.
What you will need to succeed
  • Previous experience working with a stock system and/or ERP/MRP
  • Positive and proactive approach to tasks with problem solving skills
  • Negotiation skills
