About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Strategic Buyer. This role is ideal for an ambitious and proactive individual looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, global supply chain environment.

You will take ownership of an established supplier base, predominantly supplying a range of components used in general assembly. The position offers a mix of supplier management, sourcing, negotiation, and strategic supply chain development to support business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and negotiate new products to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and new machine options.
  • Work proactively with the supply chain to drive efficiencies and cost reductions.
  • Develop and manage supplier and commodity strategies.
  • Maintain supplier records ensuring compliance with ISO procedures, statutory requirements, and business processes.
  • Ensure adherence to supply chain compliance (including Preferential Origin, CBAM, and UK/EU Sanctions).
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
  • Strong IT skills proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and how they integrate with physical operations.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Awareness of compliance requirements within a global supply chain.
  • Ability to build and develop supplier relationships.
  • Strong cost analysis, negotiation, and management skills.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, decision-making mindset.
  • Proven experience in NPI implementation and project/production planning.

  • CIPS certification or other professional purchasing qualification.
