Job description

We are looking for Procurement Specialists to join our thriving organisation in Medical & Surgical, Pharmacy, Purchased Services and HCA teams. In this role you will support the delivery of procurement programmes for healthcare providers and non‑healthcare organisations across our supplier base.

Responsibilities
  • Gain and demonstrate an aptitude for the product categories assigned, understanding how end‑users interface with the products/services, including: product features and benefits, supplier comparisons and their impact on healthcare providers.
  • Interpret and use market information provided by HealthTrust Europe Sales & Marketing Team and US Global Sourcing Team.
  • With guidance from the manager, use knowledge about suppliers to execute strategies, create leverage and mitigate risks.
  • Develop the category strategy with the support of the manager, seek guidance on risk issues and agree on mitigation strategies.
  • Under general supervision, be responsible for the sourcing process for the assigned categories, including market research, bid preparation, RFI, strategy development & validation, SQ, RFP/ITT, contract negotiations and contract launch.
  • Present category strategies and award decisions to internal stakeholders for review and discussion prior to validation.
  • Deliver quality presentations to customers.
  • Undergo a pre‑assessment of award scenarios and use outputs to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Apply procurement knowledge to determine the appropriate procurement approaches required to deliver value for all stakeholders.
  • Undertake end‑to‑end sourcing initiatives in line with organisational sourcing practices.
  • Plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories, translating objectives into planning priorities, creating and managing work plans and timelines for multiple projects, and finalising negotiations within the designated timeframe.
  • Oversee supplier relationships during the sourcing process, participate in supplier business reviews and evaluate new products/technologies/services as they arise.
  • Build effective relationships with customers, primarily via member presentations and frequent interactions at all levels, including executive.
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years procurement experience with a proven track record of delivery against targets.
  • Strategic sourcing and category management experience.
  • 1 year customer engagement experience.
  • Experienced negotiator.
  • Full end‑to‑end procurement process expertise.
  • Supplier relationship management and project management experience.
  • Accomplished user of e‑procurement systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
Desirable
  • Understanding of EU Directives.
  • Understanding of group purchasing organisations.
  • Member or training to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, and working in accordance with the CIPS Code of Ethics.
