Overview

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer for our client, a local government organisation in Gloucestershire. The successful candidate will contribute to procurement and contract work on a 3-month initial contract with the possibility to extend. This role is hybrid working.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support on a wide range of procurement and contract issues.
  • Will run tenders for goods and services ensuring compliance with council and legislative requirements.
  • Support the very best services and goods being purchased with value for money and consideration of social value and climate change.
  • Undertake market and supplier research to inform the development of commissioning and commercial thinking.
  • Undertake or lead discreet procurement projects and attend project/review board meetings as required.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant policy and legislative changes.
  • Work to lead or support specific tendering activity.
  • Prepare a procurement strategy that describes your procurement findings and recommended approach.
Personal Requirements
  • Ideally have knowledge of public sector procurement policies, procedures and systems as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Someone with procurement or commissioning skills and experience.
  • Contract management or maybe even a legal background, within local government or the public sector.
  • Highly organised and analytical, with good IT skills, ready to meet demanding targets, timescales and budgets.
Working Hours

37hrs / 9:00am - 17:00pm / Monday to Friday

Pay

£300.00 per day
