Job description

POST Recruitment is delighted to be working with a market-leading organisation to recruit a Procurement Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business that has recently invested in a cutting-edge ERP system - a reflection of its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement. As Procurement Manager, you'll take ownership of procurement across the business, driving efficiencies, maximising value from supplier partnerships, and helping shape the future of procurement strategy. You'll also play a key role in embedding the benefits of the newly implemented ERP system, ensuring the business continues to lead the way in smart, data-driven decision making. While a small part of your remit will include oversight of warehouse operations, this is primarily a strategic role where your influence will be felt across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the company's procurement strategy in line with ISO quality management standards.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international procurement and transportation regulations.
  • Harness the power of the new ERP system to drive smarter procurement decisions, cost‑saving initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to optimise value, reduce risk, and enhance service.
  • Manage supplier contracts and SLAs, ensuring performance through regular review and analysis.
  • Support internal stakeholders with contract management, renewals, and value‑for‑money analysis.
  • Provide leadership to the Procurement (and small Warehouse) team, setting KPIs, carrying out appraisals, and ensuring a culture of high performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Qualifications
  • Strong commercial awareness and a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
  • Confident in leveraging data and procurement systems (ERP experience highly beneficial).
  • Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Industry‑recognised qualification (e.g., CIPS / NVQ in Procurement).
  • Minimum of 5 years' procurement experience, with proven success in both operational and strategic procurement.
Benefits
  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Hybrid working: 3 days office / 2 days home.
  • Clear progression opportunities.
  • The chance to shape procurement in a forward-thinking, growing organisation.
