Job description

As a Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist, you'll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You'll be at the forefront of delivering critical nuclear infrastructure projects that support national security and clean energy. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, quality assurance teams, and suppliers, to ensure procurement excellence across the Sellafield SRP (SPRS Retreatment Plant) project.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a procurement team, driving high performance and value delivery
  • Develop and execute project procurement strategies aligned with cost, quality, and schedule goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ensure procurement deliverables are met through cross‑functional collaboration
  • Strengthen the supply chain to support both functional and business objectives

This is a full‑time role based in Warrington, Cheshire, with a 37‑hour working week, a hybrid working pattern requiring a minimum of 2–3 days onsite, and occasional travel to new suppliers and other sites.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of NEC or similar contract frameworks
  • Proven ability to manage procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and relationship management
  • Confident in reporting to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in post‑contract management within a highly regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, utilities, oil and gas)
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent is desirable but not essential
