Overview

Process Technician

Tiverton HSSU Hub | Sterile Services | Permanent contract | Full time £24,358.47 - 37.5 hours per week - £12.49 per hour

Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, alternating shifts every week. Weekends will be offered as overtime or TOIL depending on workloads. Between 7pm and 7am hours are paid at 30% enhancement rate, and weekends at 20%. Bank Holidays paid as double time if required with time back in lieu.

Responsibilities
  • Process Medical instruments for surgical operations
  • Learn the importance of sterile instruments from start to finish
  • Help to ensure all instruments are in good working order and learn all their names and uses
  • Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Take action to resolve any problems
  • Escalate issues where necessary
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures
  • Work with a highly skilled team
Qualifications
  • Basic education with proven literacy and numeracy skills
  • Organised with good communication skills
  • Evidence of sterile services training (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills are vital to the role
