Senior Process Engineer - Water Infrastructure
Location: UK
Work Style: Hybrid (Office/Home)

Contract: 5 day week minimum 12 months contract

A respected engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join its growing water infrastructure team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful projects that improve water and wastewater systems across the UK.

About the Role

You'll be at the forefront of designing and delivering process engineering solutions for clean water, wastewater, and sludge treatment facilities. The role combines technical leadership, project delivery, and collaboration with clients and suppliers to ensure sustainable and efficient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process design for water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses
  • Analyse operational data to drive process improvements
  • Identify and implement system enhancements using structured methodologies
  • Support project delivery in line with client expectations and regulatory standards
  • Contribute to client proposals, presentations, and technical documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality delivery
What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Process Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 6+ years of experience in process engineering within the water sector
  • Strong background in clean water, wastewater, and sludge treatment
  • Proficient in P&IDs, control philosophies, and equipment sizing
  • Familiarity with UK water industry standards and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Experience supervising junior team members is a plus
