Private Sector Tenancy Enforcement Officer (x2 fixed-term)

Stand up for tenants’ rights and make a real impact on the quality of private rental housing in Cambridge. Cambridge City Council is seeking two passionate Private Sector Tenancy Enforcement Officers to help ensure tenants in the private rented sector are treated fairly, safeguarded from poor practices, and live in safe, good condition homes.

About the Role

As a Tenancy Enforcement Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of enforcing the Renters’ Rights Act: investigate complaints and conduct property inspections, advise and support tenants through advocacy and casework, work with landlords, letting agents and stakeholders to ensure compliance, and take enforcement action when necessary to uphold tenants’ rights and prevent homelessness.

Hours & Contract

This is a full‑time role, 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday). It is a 2‑year fixed‑term contract. Salary: £37,280 – £41,771 per annum (City Pay Band 5), pro‑rata for part time.

Location

Flexible – working in Cambridge on site, one of our offices or from home, balanced to meet your circumstances.
