Private Sector Housing Officer

Contract Type: Full Time – Permanent

Salary: £34,211 Working Hours: 37

What’s the job?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy Private Sector Housing team, contributing to improving standards and health outcomes for our residents. You will investigate complaints, apply housing standards and take enforcement action to make properties safe and healthy. You will assist in the delivery of grants and financial assistance to adapt and repair properties, and energy efficiency initiatives to achieve low carbon and warm homes.

What will I need?

You will have:

  • Experience in Private Sector Housing regulation/enforcement.
  • A levels or equivalent and a Housing or Environmental Health related qualification.
  • HHSRS certificates of competency in assessment and enforcement
  • A strong interest in improving private sector housing and health outcomes;
  • The ability to prioritise a busy caseload and find positive solutions to complex challenges
  • Be highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong customer centred skills.
