Qualifications

Overview

My client is seeking a Private Client Paralegal to join their friendly team at a small, high-street practice just outside Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build their career in Private Client law within a welcoming, client-focused environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support across a varied caseload of Private Client matters. This will include Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate, and Estate Administration, offering broad exposure to the full spectrum of the department's work.

  • Drafting Wills, LPAs, and other related documents with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assisting with all aspects of Estate Administration, including preparing documentation for probate applications and liaising with third parties such as HMRC, banks, and beneficiaries
  • Maintaining and managing client files in accordance with compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Conducting legal research and supporting fee earners in preparing case papers and correspondence
  • Meeting and liaising with clients both face-to-face and over the telephone, providing clear, professional, and empathetic support throughout sensitive matters
  • Assisting with billing processes, file closing, and general administrative duties within the department
  • Supporting colleagues within the team and undertaking training and development as required
Person Specification
  • Previous experience working in a Private Client department, ideally with exposure to Wills and LPAs (probate experience advantageous but not essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines
  • IT literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with case management systems
  • A professional, proactive, and client-focused approach, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small, supportive team
