Location: Banbury. Salary: £25k to £28k, commensurate with experience.

This is a very well-established law practice that has steadily grown its office network, including two acquisitions over the past four years, giving them a great regional presence and a massively increased volume of business. The private client team is led by a senior solicitor and Director with over 20 years of experience, who handles complex high‑value cases and is recognised in the Legal 500 as a recommended lawyer. They are also the firm’s appointed Training Partner, so if you are looking to learn about more complex work or to qualify in the longer term, you will not find a better mentor. The firm’s accreditations include the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme and Lexcel.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting fee earners with the preparation of wills, lasting power of attorneys and dealing with administration of estates
  • Managing a small, straight‑forward private client caseload, commensurate with experience
  • Attending to clients by email, telephone and face to face
  • Typing and drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Time recording and preparing bills
Candidate Profile
  • At least one year’s experience working within a private client department as a paralegal/legal assistant supporting a fee earner
  • Experience of using a legal case management system
  • Ability to deal with sensitive, sometimes challenging, situations in a sympathetic and professional manner
  • Good understanding of the law pertaining to wills, trusts and probate
  • Valid driving licence and ability to use your own vehicle
What’s on Offer

This is a full‑time permanent job, fully office‑based, working 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday (35 hours per week). Salary is a guideline, in line with market rate, and will be wholly dependent on experience.
