Job description

A respected and long-established law firm in Rustington is seeking a Private Client Legal Assistant to work one-to-one with a Senior Associate within the Private Client department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in private client work who is looking to develop their career in a supportive, professional, and well-structured environment.

The Role
  • Providing dedicated secretarial and administrative support, including audio typing and diary management
  • Preparing and drafting wills, lasting powers of attorney, trust documents, and other legal paperwork
  • Supporting with probate administration, including preparing forms, managing deadlines, and handling correspondence
  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients, handling enquiries with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
  • Managing file opening, compliance checks, and maintaining accurate file records
  • Liaising with beneficiaries, financial advisers, courts, and other third parties
  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day support for the Senior Associate and helping to manage workflow efficiently
About You
  • Previous experience within a Private Client team (wills, probate, trusts, or estate administration)
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills and a compassionate, client-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently and support a busy fee‑earner effectively
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to develop within the department
