A regional health service provider is looking for a Newly Qualified Nurse to join the mental health team at HMP Deerbolt. Deerbolt is a prison and young offender institution near Barnard Castle, County Durham for men aged 18 and over.
We're looking for a qualified mental health or Learning Disability nurse to join our team working in a rewarding environment where you will get to practice a full range of psychiatric skills and interventions. You will have the time and support to make a real difference every day.
Student Nurses that are due to register in the next 3 months are very welcome to apply. Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area.
We\'ll provide you with a nurturing learning environment and allocation of a Clinical Supervisor and Professional Lead will to support your development and success within the role. This is an excellent opportunity for you to start your career in Health and Justice Services who provide care across the North East region for prison and custody related Mental Health services.
You will have experience providing compassionate care within mental health services, as well as a keen interest in understanding the criminal justice system. You will make ongoing assessment of need reflecting individual circumstances and provide relevant interventions and input to discharge planning. You will be required to have strong coordination and planning skills, with the ability to make decisions based on comprehensive health and risk assessments.
You should be innovative, flexible and able to engage with patients with complex needs. You will be committed to a person-centred approach and have the ability to prioritise.
