Job Title: Principal Hydraulic Modeller

Location: Based near Sheffield

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000

This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, a well-respected, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy known for lending their expertise to projects across the engineering and environmental landscapes. They are currently seeking a skilled, experienced Principal Hydraulic Modeller who is willing to take on an array of challenging, exciting projects across a variety of sectors, based near the diverse, green city of Sheffield.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a high-performing team across a variety of projects
  • Managing and auditing productivity rates
  • Producing hydraulic models, as well as supervising, checking, and verifying other colleagues' work
  • Analysing and interpreting data using a variety of software systems, to prepare/check/publish reports
  • Supervising plan generation utilising MapInfo
  • Managing important working relationships with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Representing the company at various site visits and other meetings
  • Flexibly managing a diverse array of high-profile projects
  • Managing costs, resources, and project delivery
  • Adhering to and enforcing industry standards, regulations, and the appropriate health and safety measures at all times
Required skills and experience
  • A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Management (or a cognate discipline)
  • Possess Chartered Status with a recognised, relevant Professional Body
  • Considerable experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy (or Local Authority) setting
  • Experience of wastewater modelling
  • Outstanding proficiency in InfoWorks ICM (1D and 2D), and other relevant software packages
  • Extensive experience of managing people and projects
  • Experience of managing client/stakeholder relations
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
  • Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
  • Excellent working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage, and hydrology sectors
