They are seeking talented and motivated Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join the Ground Engineering team helping to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK, for a range of market sectors, including highways, water, energy and development.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver geotechnical design services across all project stages: feasibility, investigation, interpretation, design, and construction supervision.
  • Act as geotechnical discipline lead on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Manage client relationships and identify new business opportunities in the geotechnical sector.
  • Provide technical governance and ensure high-quality delivery aligned with client briefs.
  • Support team management, including workload planning and resource allocation.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, manage financial performance, and administer contracts.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to bids, tenders, and pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs).
  • Promote health and safety as a core element of design and delivery.
Requirements
  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc/MSc in Engineering Geology or Earth Science.
  • MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or related field (desirable).
  • Min 8 years relevant industry background.
  • Chartered status: CEng, IEng, or CGeol.
  • Proven track record in delivering major infrastructure geotechnical designs.
  • Significant technical background across transportation, water, energy, and development sectors.
  • Strong project management skills including programming, resourcing, and financial oversight.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team motivation capabilities.
