Overall Purpose of Role
The role includes building out the LMEs real time pricing service. The initial phase of which is to provide support for Options fair value pricing working closely with our internal quant function. The pricing service is key to our ability as an exchange to maintain orderly markets during our trading periods.
Responsibilities
- Communicate, collaborate and work constructively within the team on implementing new functionalities or resolving issues to build working software delivering customer value.
- Design and implement application software up to all required standards of quality, performance, security and timeliness.
- Peer review others changes to ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, extensibility etc.
- Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.
- Implement test or process automation, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery as required and support the team in implementing best practices.
- Maintain exceptionally high standards of design and code quality at all times including but not limited to adherence to architectural security scalability standards and principles applied at the LME.
- Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of continually increasing our development productivity.
- Evaluate possible solutions and designs to establish best approach in terms of customer outcome, architecture and cost. Including prototyping technical spikes and proofs of concept.
- Implement a continuous improvement approach to the processes and mechanisms we use to build software.
- Identify and manage technical debt in the code-base and systems ensuring that feature development is balanced against long term deliverability and stability of software being delivered.
- Take responsibility for technology decisions in the team working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to build a shared understanding of what good looks like.
Academic and Professional Qualifications Required
- Preferred Bachelor's or Master's Degree (Computer Science or Related Degree Maths or Physics also considered).
- Expert level software development in C.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructures usage patterns across at least one major cloud vendor.
- Ability to scale applications across cloud technologies.
- Understanding of containers and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience writing service based architectures.
- Ideally knowledge of map reduce based big data solutions.
