This senior role leads on complex and high-risk building control cases, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and contributing to public safety across Nottingham. The postholder provides technical leadership, mentors junior staff, and deputises for the Building Control Manager. Responsibilities include assessing plans, inspecting works, managing dangerous structures, and supporting enforcement actions. The role also plays a key part in commercial delivery, client relationship management, and service improvement. It requires strong regulatory knowledge, analytical skills, and a commitment to innovation, inclusion, and high-quality service delivery.
