Job description

Quantum Scholars are delighted to be supporting a Pupil Referral Unit in Berkshire, who are seeking a passionate and dedicated qualified Primary teacher/tutor to join their team as soon as possible for an initial one-term placement.

This meaningful role offers excellent flexibility, with both full-time and part-time (3 days per week) options available. The ideal candidate will feel confident delivering engaging lessons and offering highly personalised support to a very small group of learners (just 1-2 students per group).

You will play an essential part in supporting pupils within a focused, nurturing environment-helping them re‑engage with education and achieve genuine progress.

Requirements
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong teaching experience, ideally within mainstream, SEN, or alternative provision
  • Ability to plan and deliver high‑quality lessons for small groups
  • Secure understanding of the national curriculum and effective differentiation
  • Experience working with students with behavioural, SEMH, or additional needs (highly desirable for PRUs)
  • Excellent behaviour‑management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
