Overview

We are looking for a Nurse to support a range of business activities including delivering patient clinics and reviewing patient records for our clinical trials and quality improvement (QI) activities. Your work will help improve quality of care for patients with chronic conditions and rare diseases within primary care. You will support practices to participate in novel real-life research and pragmatic trials, with the opportunity to build and contribute skills to a unique clinical trials unit.

The role is offered on a hybrid basis (3 days in office, 2 days at home) based in either our central Norwich or Oakington, Cambridge office. Main duties of the job
  • Provide a clinical nursing service and support to other professionals with patient screening, optimization of treatment, chronic disease management and advice.
  • Recruit and coordinate GP sites throughout the research process, ensuring professional relationships and regular communication with all participating GP sites.
  • Obtain and document informed consent (verbal or written) from clinic participants.
  • Travel to GP sites to collect and record data as appropriate to the study objectives.
  • Initiate new services in line with strategic aims and respond to opportunities as they arise.
  • Contribute to the development, review and implementation of patient and clinician resources including questionnaires, clinical decision support, feedback and promotional material.
  • Code and verify data in accordance with the research protocol and coding procedures and enter data into a database and/or spreadsheet for analysis.
  • Identify, implement and evaluate treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition.
  • Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication, regimens and side effects.

Clinical Support band - £40,000 - £50,000

Travel

National travel may be required with occasional overnight stays to facilitate patient clinics, usually held within GP practices. Travel will be at the expense of the company in line with the expenses policy.
