Press Brake Setter and Operator

Location: B79 7TA

Job Type: Full-Time

Start Date: February/March 2026

Salary: £14.00 per hour (negotiable)

Hours: 42 paid hours per week

7am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 7am - 1pm Friday

Job Overview

Phoenix Tavinor Engineering is seeking an experienced press brake setter/operator to contribute towards the completion of kitted packages for welders and assemblers. This role involves fully setting and operating Bystronic press brake equipment to form profiles to correct specifications using customers' engineering drawings and samples as reference. Understanding of a bill of materials is also required to be able to complete a kit of parts with the correct componentry to create full packages ready for the next operation. Kitting can involve picking nuts, bolts, fixings and parting off pipework/bar etc generally creating full kits of parts ready for assembling/welding.

Experience is preferred on the setting side but not essential, as training will be offered to the right individual. Good time served experience on press brakes and experience in the sheet metal industry is absolutely essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate press brake equipment
  • Kit packages referring to bills of materials on drawing layouts which can include picking of shelved parts and components. Some chop saw work for kitting of tube/box/bar etc
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Ensure high-quality standards and precision in metal fabrication
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
