Premises Assistant / Caretaker | ASAP Start | Term Time Only | Hammersmith & Fulham

An "Outstanding" school in the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham are on the hunt for a Premises Assistant / Caretaker for an ASAP start. This is a term time only role, with the school employing you directly. The role comprises facilities management, hands-on building maintenance and caretaking.

The school are eager to find someone who is committed, happy to work in a school, and can work to a high-level day in and day out.

Ideally the school would like someone who has had school based experience, however after working with the school for an extended period, I'm confident if you're the right fit, I will be able to get you the role!

You will need to be comfortable and competent carrying out routine repairs primarily to the school's building fabric, plumbing, carpentry and decoration, and is also comfortable with ensuring compliance with H&S, Fire Safety and Legionella controls. Working together with the IT & Facilities Assistant, the role also encompasses general portering and the setting out of the auditorium for school and external events and supporting the day-to-day school operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Premises Assistant / Caretaker
• Communication - To communicate effectively with the Premises team and use Teams, e-mail and calendars to effectively coordinate workstreams.
• To oversee day to day Site Management for the school building, ensuring the premises are maintained to a high standard
• To provide a hands-on professional building maintenance service ensuring repairs are carried out to a high standard
• To elevate more serious building issues to the Business Director and to assist with procuring and overseeing contractors' work
• To ensure the smooth running of the school by assisting with the moving of furniture, parcels and other items
• To oversee the cleaning of the school building, working with the outsourced cleaning contractors
• ASAP Start
• Term Time Only - Full Time
• Shift Work - Flexible around the appointed candidate
• Salary: up to £40,000 per annum - Permanent Contract

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Experience working in a School is desirable, but not essential
• Must have experience across carrying out general maintenance, painting / labouring
