Job summary

A recruitment company is seeking a Precision Machine Trainer for a 12-month contract in Reading. The role involves managing training programs, supervising manufacturing activities, and creating development plans. Candidates should possess NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Engineering and have hands-on machining experience, including proficiency with Shop Mill & Shop Turn. The position requires excellent teaching and leadership skills in a fully onsite environment, paying £59.03 per hour through an umbrella service. Shift Pattern

37 hours per week, 7.4 hour days. Fully onsite.

Pay Rate

£59.03 per hour (umbrella) / £43.49 per hour (paye – inside IR35)

Experience
  • 2–3 years competent machining experience (dependent on skill level)
  • Proficiency with Shop Mill & Shop Turn, manual milling and turning
  • Willingness to challenge poor behaviours and uphold company standards
  • Support safe working practices
  • Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS assessment
  • Show leadership accountabilities at first level
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide adequate supervision of activities within scope of responsibilities
  • Manage deliverables of the training programme within the business area
  • Create training and development plans addressing programme needs and expectations
  • Deploy a variety of training methods based on training needs analysis
  • Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions as required
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, ROI and report findings; audit external training providers
  • Resolve specific problems and tailor training programmes as necessary
  • Maintain close links with HR teams to ensure alignment with company-wide developments linked to training and competence
Additional Notes

Engineering background and experience.
