A healthcare provider in Accrington is seeking an enthusiastic and highly-motivated Practice Nurse to join its dynamic team. The role encompasses delivering high standards of general practice nursing care, particularly for patients with long-term conditions. Ideal candidates will have relevant nursing qualifications including General Nurse registration and current accreditations in cervical cytology and immunisation. Flexibility across the practice's sites is required. A commitment to continuous professional development is vital.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who strives to deliver a high standard of care.You will have experience in general practice Nursing duties, including cervical cytology, childhood immunisations, spirometry and managing long-term conditions. It is desirable that you have good knowledge of chronic disease management including, diabetes, asthma, and COPD.A comprehensive knowledge of QOF would be an advantage but not essential.We are not an agenda for change practice, but our salaries, annual leave and sickness absence pay are competitive.

The Practice benefits from a well-structuredand established management team which is led by a Practice Operations and StrategicManager.
We require 22.5 hours a week of Practice nursingtime to be worked over 3 days.

To be responsible for the delivery of general practice nursing to thePractice population. The focus of the role is both the delivery ofevidence-based practice for patients presenting with a long-term condition, andthe provision of preventative health care to the practice population. As aPractice Nurse, the nurse is responsible for the care delivered, demonstratingcritical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making in the management ofpatients within the boundaries of their role. They will work collaborativelywithin the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, support thedelivery of policy and procedures, and provide support to their colleagues.They will engage with the practice clinical networks and work towards the RCNcompetency framework for Practice Nurses as part of their on-going development.They will work flexibly across the main site and branch surgery of Peel HouseMedical Practice where required.
