Job Summary

We are looking for a Practice nurse to hold some lead nurse duties. These will include IPC and immunisations lead. Additional management responsibilities will be assigned along with ad‑hoc tasks as they arise. Management time will be protected and supported by the GP partners and management team. Attendance at fortnightly management meetings will be expected within working hours.

The position is part‑time, 25 hours per week. We are open to discussion around working days and hours alongside a competitive salary.

Main Duties of the Job

The Practice Nurse will be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice's multidisciplinary team who provide care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. You will be supported by our clinical and management team but must be able to work independently.

Pay Scheme

Salary: £22.50 to £24.81 per hour, depending on experience. Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Part‑time – 25 hours per week

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Develop, implement and embed health promotion and well–being programmes
  • Administer cervical screening smear tests
  • Provide wound care to patients (including ulcers, Doppler assessments, etc.)
  • Implement vaccination programmes for adults and children
  • Carry out adult immunisations
  • Carry out child immunisations
  • Assist GPs with minor surgery when required
