Candidateswill ideally have proven experience in a primary care setting and beresponsible for consulting with patients in respect of their continuing medicaland nursing needs. Candidates will be qualified with an up to date NMCregistration, plus evidence of continual professional development.
Applicantswith little or no general practice nursing experience may be considered, and ifsuccessfully appointed will be supported and fully funded to attend allnecessary training in order to offer the full range of treatment room servicesas outlined in the Job Description, including immunisations, cervicalscreening, and wound care.

Tobe responsible for the delivery of safe, high quality primary care nursingservices. Working within the NMC Code of Conduct the post holder will deliverprimary health care interventions to the practice population.
Hours: Full time - minimum 34 hours and must be able to work aThursday evening until 8 pm with a day off in the week (Tuesdays)

Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Treatment Room Nurse. There maybe, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependentupon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Administermedications by injection with the appropriate legal authorisation.
Recognisehealth promotion opportunities and give brief, focussed lifestyle advice usingmotivational interviewing techniques which may include:
oWeightmanagement
Undertakeinitial assessment of patients presenting with wounds, working within expertiseto manage independently or refer to other services as necessary.
Removewound closure materials including sutures, clips and staples.
Takesamples for the cervical screening programme according to recognised standards.
Provideear care including removal of cerumen and provide education and advice.
Administervaccines to adults and children according to the UK immunisation schedule.
Providea pre-travel health service including administration of vaccines and adviceafter undertaking appropriate risk assessment.
Administerprescribed therapies such as contraceptive injections, vitamin B12, and deponeuroleptic medications recognising side effects and contraindications.
acomprehensive approach to handling long-term health conditions like diabetes,COPD or asthma,
Recognisesigns and symptoms that may indicate undiagnosed long term conditions e.g. poorwound healing, winter cough in smokers and also factors that may indicatemental health problems and use relevant referral pathways.
Workingwithin guidelines and protocols undertake and record:
Obtain venous blood samples fromindividuals for investigation.
