We are a well-established, forward thinking, 8 partner practice, in the North of Sheffield, serving 15,000 patients across two sites. We are an enthusiastic training practice and take pride in delivering excellent patient care.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST
Support the senior practitioners to deliver nursing care to meet the needs of the practice population in accordance with agreed practice protocols. Through use of evidence‑based practice, perform wound care using aseptic technique on uncomplicated wounds. Undertake health screening, and venopuncture. Assist in addressing health promotion and public health strategy, with the maintenance of disease registers and provision of support and advice to patients within health promotion. Support patients and colleagues in adopting sound infection control measures.

JOB TITLE: PRACTICE NURSE
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To support care given by senior clinicians in the practice, by working alone and as part of the team, following practice protocols. Providing screening opportunistically and through structured health promotion clinics, combined with support and advice to patients, in order to achieve change in unhealthy behaviour, and contribute to the implementation of the National Service Frameworks and chronic disease management. To assist in clinical audit and the setting and monitoring of standards of care. Teach and direct others in the practice including unqualified staff. Participate in providing evidence‑based practice and work effectively in the team.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES/AIMS:
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
