A healthcare practice in Greater London seeks an experienced Practice Nurse to provide nursing services to its practice population of 7,150 patients. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment, chronic disease management, and providing health education. Ideal candidates are registered nurses with experience in immunizations and chronic conditions. The practice offers a supportive environment, and your role will be crucial in ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with statutory regulations.
We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join Broad Lane Surgery which is a GMS training practice inHampton, a leafy suburban village on the outskirts of Southwest London. We carefor a list of 7150 patients from a converted residential property which has hadconsiderable modification to make it a pleasant working environment. We are aclose and friendly team, fortunate to enjoy a positive working relationship withour PCN and Federation.
To provide nursing services to the Practice population byassessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
To ensure the provision of a high-quality Patient service within asafe, efficient working environment by providing effective support to thePartners and staff and encouraging the development and progress of Broad LaneSurgery
Maintaining appropriate records to ensure continuity and quality ofcare for Patients
To collaborate with other GP Partners/employees and Practice staffon development and delivery of enhanced service issues within Broad LaneSurgery
To be involvedin Practice development, identifying service changes and developments in linewith clinical needs locally
We are a close and friendly team that are very supportive. We are led by 2 GP partners and have 5 salaried GPs 1 HCA 1 Pharmacist and 3 GP assistants and 5 admin reception staff.
To provide assessment, treatment, screening, health educationservices and advice working in accordance with the NMC Code of conduct
Provide nursing treatments to Patients independently or inparticipation with other clinical colleagues working to agreed protocols andguidelines
Provide general and specific health screenings to the PracticePatients within agreed protocols and guidelines referring to other members ofthe clinical team as necessary
To manage Patients with chronic diseases; running specific clinicsessions and maintaining robust call and recall systems
Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology andmeet targets delivering the national immunisation and vaccination schedule
Nursing procedures to include: Wound management
Measuring blood pressure Routine injections as prescribed Cervicalsmears
ECGs
Ear syringing
Vaccinations andimmunisations
Assisting withminor surgery and IUCD insertion
Provide advice to Patients for general health care and minorailments, with referral to another clinician as necessary
To participatein research within the Practice
To be responsible for the efficient running of the treatment roomand equipment
To assist withthe management of leg ulcers
Select, carryout and interpret results of specific tests
Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Infection control, Health& Safety, COSHH, etc) are implemented and adhered to
To maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations andtreatments in the Patients notes, both written and computerised
Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with Patienthealth care and registration with the Practice
Ensure collection of statistical information is required for regularand ad hoc reports
To have workingknowledge of equipment used in the surgery
Ensure compliance with Patient confidentiality at all times in linewith current legislation
Contribute tothe development of new Patient services
Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Infection control, Health& Safety, COSHH, etc) are implemented and adhered toTo maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations andtreatments in the Patients notes, both written and computerised
