Overview

Practice Nurse. Opportunity for a locum contract, based across West Midlands. The role is based within the GP Practice with the aim to provide leadership to junior members of the Practice Nursing Team, in collaboration with the Nurse Lead and General Practitioners, to develop an effective, quality-driven Practice Nurse Service. You will promote integrated nursing practice within the wider nursing team (Practice Nurses, District Nurses and Health Visitors) underpinned by the development of evidence-based practice guidelines for shared delivery of care to the whole practice population. You will also monitor key quality markers relating to guidelines to ensure clinical effectiveness. You will attend to patients who wish to be seen by a health care professional, seeing and advising people regarding their continuing medical and nursing needs. These patients will have booked appointments but may also require to see extra or emergency patients.



Responsibilities


  • Lead the junior members of the Practice Nursing Team in collaboration with the Nurse Lead and General Practitioners.

  • Develop and promote an integrated nursing practice within the wider nursing team.

  • Develop evidence-based practice guidelines and ensure shared delivery of care to the whole practice population.

  • Monitor clinical effectiveness by tracking key quality markers related to guidelines.

  • Attend to patients seeking care from a health professional, providing guidance on continuing medical and nursing needs for booked and potential walk-in or emergency visits.



Locum Contract Details


  • Locum Agency Contract: Monday to Friday
