Job description

Commutable from Birmingham, Warwick, Leamington Spa, and the surrounding areas, an exciting opportunity for a Lead Power Electronics Engineer has become available.

The Lead Power Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for the full design and development life‑cycle of innovative technology for the automotive industry but also Aerospace, whilst also undertaking a project lead role.

The Lead Power Electronics Engineer will work within an established talented team, where tasks include taking designs through the complete design cycle into production, including simulation, design, prototype build and testing as well as producing required documentation.

Other responsibilities include:
  • High‑power traction inverter design (150 kW, 300–800 V)
  • Microcontroller hardware implementation
  • Digital motor control schemes for a variety of motor technologies

The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level in electrical or electronic engineering and have a demonstrable background in the following:

  • Motor Control
  • Inverter design for EVs and Hybrid EVs
  • SMPS design
  • Project management
