Job Overview

The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist for a two‑year training position to research computational pipelines and novel database structures.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake research to develop and apply computational pipelines.
  • Plan experimental work, manage objectives, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Present scientific work at seminars, internal meetings, and external conferences.
  • Draft scientific papers and contribute to publications.
  • Assist in training PhD students and other LMB members.
  • Contribute to laboratory discussions and group operations.
Training and Development

Postdoctoral training includes MRC training courses, external courses, and one‑to‑one training with supervisor.

  • Develop personal development plan.
  • Attend training courses.
  • Identify additional training for career development.
Qualifications
  • A master's degree in software, electrical, biomedical engineering or related quantitative discipline.
  • Desirable: A PhD in a relevant subject.
  • Excellent programming skills (Python, C++). Desirable: experience in software/hardware design and interest in neuroscience.
  • Experience with SQL, high‑performance computing, signal processing highly desirable.
