A leading archaeological services company is seeking a motivated Post-Excavation Archaeologist based in Barnard Castle. This 6-month fixed term role involves processing archaeological finds and soil samples, preparing archives, and maintaining digital records. A degree in Archaeology is required, along with strong organisational skills and an interest in materials. Cura Terrae Land and Nature’s archaeological team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Post-Excavation Archaeologist to support a diverse portfolio of national archaeological projects. Based in Barnard Castle, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in post-excavation processes and material culture analysis.
The role will include processing and preliminary cataloguing of finds and environmental soil samples, preparation of archaeological archives, and support with the administrative functions of our post-excavation services. Full training will be provided to ensure these tasks are completed in line with Cura Terrae’s internal procedures and professional standards.
Cura Terrae is a CIfA Registered Organisation. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to work towards individual CIfA membership, with all associated fees paid by the company.
