Overview

We are recruiting for Porters who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. An opportunity has arisen within the Portering team at East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust for a general porter to join our team at Lister Hospital. You will need to be flexible as we are a 24/7 department 365 days of the year. Previous experience in a hospital is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
  • The Porter will move patients by bed, wheelchairs, and trolleys, change medical gases, collect blood products, take specimens to the pathology lab, take deceased to the mortuary and full training will be provided.
  • You will be familiar with appropriate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • The successful candidate will co-operate with the Trust in maintaining suitable standards of Health and Safety including adhering to all Trust Policies and Procedures, always work in compliance with rules and working practices.
  • The post holder is required to participate in training as appropriate and put your skills and knowledge into practice. Training will be identified and carried out to fulfil the requirements of this job description.
  • You may also be required to fulfil other duties as appropriate to the grade that may be determined from time to time.
