A great opportunity has arisen for a Porter within our Capital Estates & Facilities Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne. The post holder will assist the Portering team Leader in delivery of services within the department. We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Porter to work in a team to provide an efficient, client focused and high quality Portering services. The Trust offers benefits including an excellent pension scheme, flexible working and up to 33 days annual leave.

Location: Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne

Band 2, Permanent, Full-time, Agenda for Change pay scheme.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Portering team Leader in the delivery of services within the department
• Provide an efficient, flexible and customer-focused Portering service
• Handle a variety of tasks including collection/delivery of post and parcels, housekeeping stock, gas cylinders, food delivery, waste removal, setting up meeting rooms, consumables, medication deliveries, and vehicle inspections
• Operate hospital vehicles around the site as required
• Work on a four on, two off shift pattern from either 07:30–16:00 or 10:00–18:30
• Maintain safe and compliant working practices in line with Health & Safety requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential Basic level of general education (Mathematics and English at GCSE level)
• Essential Full driving licence
• Essential Experience within a similar role
• Essential Previous experience working within an NHS environment
• Essential Good understanding of Health & Safety including Manual Handling
• Essential Good understanding of COSHH
• Essential Basic IT skills; good verbal and written communication
• Desirable Additional IT skills
• Essential Good organisational skills; ability to work without constant supervision and to agreed timescales; highly motivated with a flexible approach; able to work as part of a team
