Job description

Job Title : Commercial Plumber

Reports to : Project Manager, Operations Director

Location : Work at various sites across the UK

Job Summary

The Commercial Plumber / Mechanical Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical piping systems and plumbing infrastructure across commercial and industrial environments. This includes hot and cold water systems, HVAC pipework, and drainage systems. The role demands technical proficiency, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate nationally as part of multiple contracts held by MJ Quinn Integrated Services
  • Attend various types of premises to install new mechanical systems to various types of cooling units and associated systems / services.
  • Install and joint pipework using brazing, soldering, and mechanical fittings in accordance with BS standards
  • Carry out risk assessments and complete work permits in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards and internal quality protocols
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and compliance checks.
  • Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of services
Qualifications / Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering (Pipefitting) or equivalent
  • Valid CSCS card; SSSTS
  • Experience in commercial plumbing and mechanical pipefitting, ideally within healthcare, industrial, or large-scale commercial settings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
