Job Title: Patch Orchestration Engineer (Platform / DevOps)
Location: Knutsford (Hybrid / Onsite as required)
Contract Length: Until 31st December 2025
Day Rate: £400 (PAYE via Umbrella – Inside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking a Patch Orchestration Engineer to join a financial services client on a long-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the availability, security, and performance of non-production environments, ensuring vulnerabilities are remediated, and supporting automation and monitoring initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high availability of non-production environments through proactive monitoring and alerting.

  • Address and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities in line with enterprise standards.

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and lead triage calls to resolve infrastructure issues end-to-end.

  • Contribute to knowledge base documentation for environment monitoring and automation processes.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong background in application support and environment management.

  • Proven experience with infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively in fast-paced technical environments.

Desirable Skills
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Knowledge of middleware and databases such as IBM MQ, Kafka, Oracle, MS SQL Server.

  • Configuration and support of Apache Web Servers, JBOSS, and WAS.

  • Exposure to automation and security tools such as Chef, Ansible, Firewalls, PKI, Cyber Wallets, and SSL/TLS encryption.
