Plant Purchasing Assistant

Location: Leigh | Contract: Permanent | Hours: Full Time

Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and experienced in purchasing administration? We're looking for a Plant Purchasing Assistant to join our manufacturing team and play a key role in ensuring smooth purchasing operations and compliance.

About the Role

As the Plant Purchasing Assistant, you'll be the go-to person for purchasing and administration within the plant. Working closely with the Plant Purchasing Manager, you'll manage purchase orders, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure timely, accurate procurement in line with environmental and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process purchase orders and transport orders for scrap & regrind loads
  • Book receipts and resolve invoice/order data issues with finance and suppliers
  • Support stock management in line with Group targets
  • Handle expense purchases for PPE, factory consumables, engineering supplies, and office items
  • Match invoices against engineering systems and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure compliance with EA permit requirements and duty of care documentation
  • Manage PRN compliance, logging tonnage and supporting evidence
  • Provide holiday and logistics cover as needed
What We're Looking For
