Job description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced heavy mobile plant fitter to join our client based in Immingham. The ideal candidate would have time served as a mobile heavy plant mechanic or have worked on site on mobile plant in a waste / quarry setting.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine inspections on all mobile plant.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance.
• Monitor and exchange wear parts.
• Complete plant servicing.
• Communicate with suppliers / OEM on parts / servicing and breakdowns.
• Prioritize emergency breakdowns ensuring equipment is quickly returned to service and temporary fixes are followed by permanent solutions.
• Fault-find and diagnose mechanical / hydraulic and electrical issues.
• Review mobile plant daily check sheets / record keeping.
• Ensure mobile plant safety features are operational.
• Be available on call during vessel loading.
• Maintain critical spares stock on site.
• Maintenance on site general equipment.
• Other duties that contribute to a smooth operation.

Applicants preferred skill set / training

• Full UK driving licence.
• Certificated to operate Material Handlers / Loading Shovels / 360 excavators / ADT Dumpers / Forklift.
• Fabrication / hard facing.
• Be qualified or time served heavy plant mechanic.
• Good knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Capable of working independently, making decisions and adapting to changing conditions and pressures.
• Uphold the highest level of safety.
