Planning Solicitor – Infrastructure Projects | London

G2 Legal is working with a leading UK law firm to recruit a Planning Solicitor into its nationally recognised Planning & Infrastructure team, based in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team advising on some of the most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK. The team is involved in major developments in the energy, transport and water sectors, including electricity transmission, carbon capture, solar, battery storage, ports, airports and rail.

The Role:

You’ll be working on a wide variety of infrastructure projects, including:

  • Providing strategic advice on planning requirements, route selection and consultation processes
  • Reviewing environmental statements and drafting legislation
  • Supporting public inquiries and examinations
  • Advising on land assembly, compensation, hybrid Bills and public law issues
  • Advising on Development Consent Orders (DCOs), Transport and Works Act Orders and harbour/marine authorisations
About You:
  • A qualified solicitor with at least 3 years’ experience in planning law, ideally with exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of the political and legal context of infrastructure delivery
  • Passionate about the transport and energy sectors and their role in climate change mitigation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and drafting skills
  • Organised, proactive and committed to continuous learning and development
