About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Planner skilled in Primavera P6 to join our team working across mechanical, process, energy, chemical, and petrochemical construction projects.

Your role will include developing, maintaining, and closing project schedules with clear work breakdown structures (WBS Levels 1-4), integrating subcontractor schedules, resource loading for earned value management, and producing detailed planning reports (milestones, lookaheads, critical path, S-curves, and variances). You will identify critical activities and assist project managers in recovery and what-if scenarios.

You will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning teams, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring realistic and achievable schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Primavera P6 project schedules with accurate WBS and logic.
  • Integrate subcontractor schedules into master schedules.
  • Apply resource loading and earned value management techniques.
  • Produce regular reports: milestones, lookaheads, S-curves, critical path, float, variances, and resource forecasts.
  • Identify critical/near-critical activities and communicate risks promptly.
  • Support claims management and schedule-based earned value reporting.
  • Maintain strong client and third-party relationships, including site assessments.
Requirements
  • Minimum HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven site-based construction project planning experience in mechanical, process, energy, or petrochemical sectors.
  • Good understanding of contract types, permit systems, and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel to client and site locations across the UK.
