Job description
Planned Maintenance and Utilities Manager

As the Planned Maintenance (PM) & Utilities Manager for Diversey’s production site in Somercotes you are responsible for supporting the Maintenance strategy through the use of PM systems, and for improving the site's Utilities performance & efficiency. You will oversee the team solely focused on PM and Utilities on-site, ensuring daily checks and maintenance activities on equipment are carried out correctly. You will develop / use a CMMS (computer maintenance management systems), and relevant data analysis to develop and maintain the production processes, to implement step changes in performance and to develop and maintain the existing production processes.

In this role you will be working alongside the Technician Manager who is responsible for leading the Reactive maintenance team, and you will report to the Engineering manager. In this respect you will coordinate closely as an engineering management team to achieve improvement across the board.

Our site in Cotes Park produces professional cleaning chemicals. Naturally, fast, accurate and thorough preventative maintenance is critical to our success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with the PM schedule
  • Developing and improving AM and PM systems to ensure efficient running of the plant
  • Ensuring machinery runs effectively and efficiently through the application of PM systems
  • Playing a key role in the introduction of all new machinery and associated technologies to site
  • Improving line efficiencies by analyzing breakdown investigations and targeting PM activity in these areas
  • Identifying current PM activity that can be cascaded to the operations team through Autonomous Maintenance (AM)
  • Complying with site safety systems to the required level
  • Complying with local legislation and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Actively growing the team to move the site balance from reactive to proactive maintenance
  • Ensuring the team carries out all necessary Daily Checks on the various site’s utilities plant equipment
  • Ensuring the team carries out all necessary Function Tests on the site’s safety equipment (Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, High Level Alarm)
  • Ensuring compliance with established or new audit requirements
  • Making effective repairs to machinery using established methodology
  • Applying, developing and improving AM and PM systems to ensure efficient running of the plant / utilities equipment
  • Ensuring the utilities equipment & plant runs effectively and efficiently working closely with OEM engineers
Required Experience / Qualifications
  • A few years’ previous management experience in a similar position
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications C&G, NVQ / ONC / HNC
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing industry – various industries considered: Packaging, Food, FMCG or maintenance environment preferred
  • Good understanding of general manufacturing utilities plant equipment
