Job description
Overview

Specialist Pipefitter / Installation Engineer - Commercial Fuels. Permanent, full-time position. Home-based (sites across the UK, occasional EU). Preferred base along the M6/M1 corridors (Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Derby, Stoke and surrounding areas). Company location: Springhill, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire (HQ for reference only).

Salary & Benefits
  • £40,000 - £42,500 basic, OTE £50,000 - £55,000 with overtime
  • Paid door-to-door, overtime after 8.5 hrs/day
  • x1.5 Mon-Sat (regular), x2 Sundays/Bank Holidays (rare)

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, test (pressure & vacuum testing) & commission fuel storage tanks, pumps, and pipework systems (steel, plastic fusion-welded, double-contained).
  • Carry out all aspects of pipework system installation including fuel filtration systems, vapour recovery & leak detection.
  • Work from technical drawings/schematics; to build complete fuel pipework installations.
  • Office Support with RAMS, PTW, toolbox talks, and site surveys.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance (incl. ATEX awareness) and liaise with clients/contractors.
  • Assist with commissioning, handover, and client training.
Candidate Profile
  • Time-served Pipefitter with proven fuel system installation experience.
  • Skilled in reading drawings, schematics, testing, commissioning.
  • Comfortable travelling and staying away when required.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential:
  • Fuel system installation & above-ground tank projects
  • Knowledge of vapour recovery & leak detection
  • Experience in pressure/vacuum testing & commissioning
  • Used working from RAMS/PTW documentation
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Desirable (advantageous, not essential): NVQ L3, SSSTS, Confined Space/BA, CSCS, SPA Passport, PASMA, Forklift Licence, Working at Height, Asbestos/Legionella/Explosive Atmosphere training, Knowledge of Veeder Root TLS, Merridale, Franklin Fuelling.
