Pianist/Singer for Swan Hellenic Cruises

Description

V.Ships Leisure is looking for Pianist on behalf of Swan Hellenic Cruises. Responsible for delivering high quality, individualized and technically excellent entertainment services for guests whilst complying with any Company Policies and towards a goal of achieving total guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivers high energy and interactive entertainment to our guests in line with the Swan Hellenic brand, with the ability to accommodate and learn guest song requests.
  • Provides an average of five hours per day of ambient music with a polished, classy type of sound as scheduled by the ship’s management.
  • Provides a repertoire containing at least two hundred and fifty songs with a wide range from Bach to Gershwin plus Broadway favorites, American standards and popular film music.
  • Reads musical partitions and performs individually or alongside other members of the shipboard music team and/or production cast as assigned.
  • Performs acoustically or with tasteful support from harmonizers, loopers, and other similar effects.
  • Performs on sea days during lunch hours in the assigned venue as scheduled by the ship’s management.
  • Performs during embarkation in the assigned venue as scheduled by the ship’s management.
  • Performs during Tea Time/Welcome/First Timers/Venetian/Farewell Cocktail parties and other social events as scheduled by the ship’s management.
  • Performs during special F&B events.
  • Conducts a variety of entertainment for guests, such as musical quizzes, sing-alongs, karaoke and other games, in close collaboration with the supervisor.
  • During long cruises (ten days or longer), organizes and heads special entertainment events, such as own show, recitals.
  • Carries out all the technical set ups in public areas with the help/assistance of the technical team.
  • Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor. Keeping the Cruise Director promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance.
  • Socializes with guests when in public rooms.
  • Assists with induction and training of new crew.
  • Adjusts the schedule and location independently when the overall daily operation changes.
  • Incorporates Company service standards, personalized service and sincere hospitality by creating positive experiences for guests, efficiently engaging with guests and anticipating guest needs. Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
  • Valid STCW95 certification.
  • Conservatoire Musical Education.
  • Preferably 2 years experience in a similar position in the entertainment industry within an international 5 star establishment.
  • Strong skills as a classical piano accompanist.
  • Physically and medically fit.
  • Moral integrity is required.
