Overview

Our Critical Care Therapy team works in innovative and exciting ways to improve quality of life for people during and after critical illness.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with complex presentations or multiple pathologies using advanced assessment techniques.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate physiotherapy interventions in partnership with health and social care colleagues.
  • Work under the supervision of Band 7 Respiratory Physiotherapist, taking lead clinical role in respect of service and staff development.
  • Deputise for the Band 7 Lead and manage Band 5 Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, therapy assistants, apprentices and students.
  • Maintain a flexible approach, explore new ways of working in line with NHS long term plan.
  • Participate in evening, weekend respiratory physiotherapy on‑call service and seven day working.
Qualifications
  • Physiotherapy Degree
  • Relevant respiratory courses or qualifications
  • Leadership qualification or relevant experience
Experience
  • Experience working in a respiratory setting as a physiotherapist
  • Good knowledge of physiotherapy in Critical Care and Surgical Specialities
  • Experience working in critical care as a physiotherapist
