Job Summary

The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the organization to patients who visit for diagnostic testing and routine health care needs. The PSR I is responsible for collecting and preparing quality blood specimens, maintaining patient confidence, and providing a professional, safe, and accurate collection experience. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to customer service and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specimen collection and processing duties according to clinical and forensic standards.
  • Provide professional and compassionate care, ensuring patient comfort and safety during blood draws.
  • Verify patient identity and sample labeling to ensure accuracy and traceability.
  • Maintain all required documentation and records per laboratory procedures.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and quality control regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrate superior customer focus and uphold the company’s core values of integrity and excellence.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 1+ year preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service environments preferred.
  • Keyboarding and data entry proficiency required.
Education & Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification required (Massachusetts).
