Job summary

A local healthcare provider in Littleport is seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician. You will support safe medication use and work directly with patients while collaborating with Clinical Pharmacists and GPs. The ideal candidate will be GPHC registered and possess good communication and IT skills, with over three years of experience in Primary Care. Qualifications

Job description

St Georges Medical Centre is looking for a qualified Pharmacy Technician tojoin our Pharmacy team.

Our Pharmacy Technicians are valued and supported members ofthe team, and work closely with clinicians and other Pharmacists , helping us continue safe and effective prescribing practice and theobvious benefits that brings to our patients.

Supervision, oversight and support will be offered from aClinical Pharmacist, and training will be encouraged.

Must be GPHC registered

Main duties of the job

You will have an enthusiasm for patient safety, servicedevelopment, personal development, and are likely to have experience in eithera community pharmacy or primary care setting.

Good communication and IT skills will be vital, and you willbe qualified and registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.

Key tasks include:

Direct work with patients, including supporting safemedication use, repeat prescription reconciliations, and leading Level 1medication reviews.

Liaison with Practice colleagues and partner organisations,including care homes, CCG Medicines Optimisation Teams and local Pharmacies.

Supporting safe systems of working, including leadingaudits, communicating safety alerts and formulary changes.

Supporting delivery of contract requirements, including DEScontract and QOF targets.

Job responsibilities

The rolewill involve working closely with our Clinical Pharmacists, GPs and otherPractice staff to support safe, effective and efficient prescribing within thePractices. Regular tasks include:

Direct workwith patients, including supporting safe medication use, repeat prescriptionreconciliations, and leading Level 1 medication reviews.

Liaison withPractice colleagues and partner organisations, including care homes, CCGMedicines Optimisation Teams and local Pharmacies.

Supportingsafe systems of working, including leading audits, communicating safety alertsand formulary changes.

Supportingdelivery of contract requirements, including DES contract and QOF targets.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent in both Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • - Appropriately qualified and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Evidence of further training and qualifications.
Additional requirements
  • - Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
  • - Satisfactory employment references.
  • - Ability to travel easily in the community when required.
  • - Absence of referee concerns / high numbers of patient complaints.
  • - Driver with access to vehicle.
Experience
  • - Using IT systems to record, analyse and communicate information accurately.
  • More than three years experience working within Primary Care.
  • - Using the SystmOne clinical system.
