Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive full time Procurement Assistant to join our fast-paced Outpatient Pharmacy team. The position requires a strong sense of attention to detail and ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods. The role is focused on procurement tasks that contribute towards delivery of our hospital outpatient pharmacy service.

Main Duties of the Job

Exciting opportunity for procurement assistant to join a fast paced and dynamic team at the Outpatient Pharmacy, Warwick Hospital. A procurement assistant plays a key role in sourcing and procuring necessary medications to meet patient needs while optimising costs and supply chain management. Ensuring efficient and high‑quality customer experience is maintained to deliver a safe, effective and caring service for patients and other service users.

About Us

SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT). The company provides a number of services such as outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, George Eliot, University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire and St Cross (Rugby) hospitals; estates and facilities management at Warwick, Stratford upon Avon and Ellen Badger hospitals, Acorn House and Lillington Health Hub; private patient service and consultancy services to NHS Trusts.

Subject to the Company and individual's performance, an annual discretionary bonus will be awarded.

There is automatic enrolment to the Company pension scheme, with the Company contributing 5%.

Job Responsibilities
  • Undertakes the day‑to‑day work of the Pharmacy, which will include releasing orders, receiving & checking off stock.
  • Works alongside procurement lead to chase missing orders, to‑follows, owing items and monitor stock shortages.
  • Ensures that paperwork is completed accurately and on time, communicates issues as appropriate, and attends meetings as required.
  • Offers suggestions to improve the way we work utilising best practices.
  • Is accountable for certain aspects of the role at the request of the line manager.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships and good communications with patients and Trust employees. Contributes to the teamwork ethic to enable the best possible service and care to patients.
  • Ensures confidentiality of commercial and clinical information, which may relate to customers, staff, company policies, prices, business information; and takes account of requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations, and Freedom of Information legislation.
  • Manages their own personal training and development.
  • Performs any other relevant duties and training requirements at the request of the line manager.
  • Adheres to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and all other relevant legislation.
  • Engenders a customer first culture across the organisation ensuring high standards of professional customer service are delivered at all times within the pharmacy.
  • Provides a liaison service between users and suppliers to fulfil the customer need.
